ロジカルも結局感覚でしかない

ロジカルthinkingといえども
結局それは
感覚によってコントロールされる
irrational thinking

thinking of others

It's great to pursue our own will as well as accomplish things, and I'm also one of them who vigorously try to find my way following intuition, normal 20s' something living in a capital city, Tokyo. However, if such feeling accelerates unconsciously, it's a bit dangerous. It's because that being obsessed with ourselves leads us to have less space to care about others. For sure, various severe situation can make it difficult for people to have extra space for others, yet other than that, it's always possible for us to make more effort to keep an eye on others.

Honestly speaking, every now and then, I forget very basic fact that I cannot live alone.(I mean it "mentally") It sounds shameless and ridiculous but true, so I've constantly got to reflect on things going on in my daily life, for instance, who did what, and what's for.... remember subtle behavior...in detail. And then, there will be so many things I can realize through that reflection. Like, "oh yeah, I'm given much more than giving." and I might be able to do something in return for him/her. I don't mean it material return but some action which shows appreciation. Or even not be given anything, if there is someone bothered or seem to need some help, why not suggesting him/her to eat out, having drinks? My action could be totally useless, but who knows. Might be. Sometimes people just need someone to hear their stories and problems.

From so many experiences that I'm supported by others, I think I need to think of others and do something in return or do something when it's necessary for others. Pursing my dream is important but I should consider people and things around me. Oh, this is like telling myself through writing here:) Anyway, I hope that there is someone to support you when it's needed and also you're the one who support them at some point too.

many thoughts about the internationalization in Japan

As one of recent dendencies in Japan, more and more companies are emphasizing the importance of mastering English due to improve the international competitiveness which is the most concern for current Japan. Indeed, learning another language, most likely, English is a must, an inevitable key to survive economically for the future. However, I doubt that most people fully understand what it means to catch up with this incrediblly fast internationalization.

It's likely that learning English is enough to compete with other countries, but obviously it's not enough because english is only a part of tool to communicate with the world. After all, it's just a language, that's that. There is necessity to comprehend various cultural background in each country. And, we shouldn't focus too much on only english, rather should learn another language besides englsih nowadays. In this sense, Japan is terribly left behind compared with other developed countries.

Moreover, another point that I'm concerned is that we should make it sure what kind of position to take in terms of leaning english. Even though I mentioned above, "language is just a language", leaning another language itself more or less can be cultural enlightenment of the place where that language is mainly spoken. I love learning other languages, for example English and Chinise, yet to be honest, as for english, I sometimes hate it. It's because some people take english only as imports from Western Countries, mostly U.S. For instance, when it comes to study abroad in order to improve English or whatsoever, it's still maintream to go to U.S..... according to my personal assumption, the definition of "foreign country" is so grossly one-sided especially among people who have never been abroad. "Foreign country"can be wherever outside of Japan, plus "foreign people" can be from anywhere, Asia, Africa, Middle East... In such a internationalized world, that image should be removed right away; otherwise, we'll be just absorbed by the Western Country.

The flexiblity and adaptivity of other languages and cultures will play an important role regarding international competitiveness from now on.

Well...my thoughts are messed up in this post, sorry!:( There are too many things in my mind to sort it out, hahhhaaa.

sad truth, marriage hunting

While taking trains to wherever in Japan, you probably find ads of marriage-hunting agencies. It apparently sounds rediculous for people who have never heard new trend regarding marriages in Japan. Most of my friends from foreign countries say "you're joking" ,then I say "no, I'm not joking", started to explain to them what it's all about.

I happened to spend a christmas eve at my friend's flat with a few female friends of hers, who are actually 29-30 years old. Sadly, what they were talking about was mostly about marriages. To be honest, that's something I got surprised a lot the fact that they're too much obssessed about hunting guys and getting married. I don't say this kind of women account for a big part of Japan, but obviously there are a lot. That's why businesses in terms of marriage hunting are inclined to become unbelievably vigorous lately. Thinkable factors are, for example, pressure from their parents, social pressure which deems unmarried women something wrong, and less chances to interact with the right men in the right time. In such a society with fewer children, this trend might help people getting married and having children. However, I don't really think it's natural way we do up to marriages.

Compared with tendency in old days, indeed, more and more women are high educated equally with men, working in different business fields, and pretty much independent. Yet, stories totally change when it's time that they become 30s'. Not all relatives don't put pressure on them to get married though, generally speaking, majority of them do so, and I've actually seen one of my cousins have been bothered by the same problem.

I don't think that female friends are simply eager to get married either. There is obviously a social pressure to force them to do that even if they're not sure it's the right thing to do. It's pretty sad truth, but true.

Well, I've thought that no one should disturb their life by putting much pressures on them about marriages and shouldn't complain anything about their way of life as long as they're totally independent and not bothering anyone financially. Not getting married? Not having children? So what? There are always reasons why they choose that way, and in many cases, it's because of circumstances which make them difficult to do that.

Maybe we've got to import new marriage system...like PACS in France so that people can get together more smoothly and regardless sexuality as well.

Any opinions are welcome.

acceptance

A load of memories piled up for long term can never be rewritten even after ages. Unlike PCs, our mind don't have a button called "delete"which is capable of erasing whatever unnecessities right away. Instead of deleting, waiting till it's gone is the only thing we all human being can do.
But how long it does take? No one knows, proabably it might never vanish. The high-tech world still doesn't help us at this point but just exaggerate the fact we're human being that hasn't changed rapidly like technologies do.

Waiting till it's gone sounds like a never-ending story....
After all, acceptance is only way to make things better. Accept as memories are, accept as your feeling were in the past, accept as your feeling is at present....

Acceptance isn't that easy in reality though, what else to do?
We've gotta accept...

the way I am and the way people are

Introducing ourselves for the first time in Japan, it's frequently taken for granted that the first thing to say is what's our name and then what kind of job we're doing. I'm always stuck at this point, why it should be like that in the first place even though not knowing one another well enough. What I mean is that a job itself does have little things to do with a personality; nevertheless, some people tend to look on others with a pair of colored glasses soon after getting to know what they're doing as a job. For sure, in order to deepen our understanding, it would be necessary to gain that kind of information, yet not necessarily from the start.

"The way people are is more important than what they're doing."
That's what I've thought all the time.

social networking

Facebook, twitter, mixi...a bunch of social networking sites are being on a continual development, which doesn't know the end. Frankly, I'm a bit scared that it gets to be generalized more and more to join those social networking sites as if not being a member means something wrong.

Indeed, sharing thoughts and experiences sometimes makes some change in our life to the better, but on the other hand, an information overload generates confusion at the same time. My opinion is like this, "we don't have to know everything about matters as well as people" . The reason is pretty much simple, it's because there is a case that we can stay in a peace by not knowing things too detail. One of japanese proverbs also says the same thing, "what you don't know can't hurt you".

Apparently, the world we're living in has plenty of paradoxes.

sex industry in Japan~love hotels~

This is my own interest though, I'm sometimes simply surprised at a scale of sex industry in Japan, surely it must be larger compared with that in european countries.

Looking at love hotels, we can easily find them almost everywhere, even in the remote countryside. Since I used to live in a place which is pretty close to love hotels for childhood, it's somewhat familiar thing and part of the landscape. So I'd rather say if there is an area which doesn't have love hotels, it seems weird:)

Why there should be thousands of love hotels all over the country...?? I thought about the answer, it's probably because that Japanese don't have enough space to have privacy at home, especially when people still lives with their family in the same house. However, even in a case of married couples that already started to live together, they will go there to get another excitement which cannot experienced in a daily circumstance. Interestingly, as a recent trend, love hotels is attracting high-end customers by offering not only a luxury space but also a good meal....

I wonder what's the origin of Japanese love hotels....gotta figure out some books about it:)

tone of voice⇔language

As this title says, I'd like to share some interesting effects between languages and the the tone of voice.

Some of you might notice what I'm going to say here if you have ever experienced speaking another language before.

TONE OF VOICE ⇔ LANGUAGE

It's simply explaining that the tone of voice is changed depend on what language you speak. This is something that I consciously found out through conversation with foreign friends in a situation that we often switch our languages, english to Japanese, and Japanese to English. Moreover, the funny thing is that slight difference of the tone of voice highly effects the image of people. Not only English but also whatever languages make a change in our voice and image.

According to my friends, their tone of voice tend to be higher for some reason when they try to speak Japanese:) I asked the same question to all of my friends from Australia, England, Finland, Italy, America, ....etc. So probably this is true. Aaaand I do also realize that my voice changes, speaking english. Mine tends to be lower in English.

Anyway, an interesting point is that the tone of voice can even change an image of speaker. Here is a story of a friend of mine from Australia living in Japan for more than 10 years.

Obviously, he's a perfect Japanese speaker, probably good at it more than me:) Yet, he said that he wants to fix his Japanese voice since his tone of voice is pretty high when he speaks Japanese, and because of this, he sometimes feel as if he has two different personalities.

For sure, speaking different language sometimes changes people's personalities. However, this is somewhat interesting. "the tone of voice"!!

Are there anyone who agree with me?!
